Hi Mark, I miss Lynda. The two of you are a lot like my husband and I. We’ve been married 54 years, 55 in May, we just turned 73 years old. Congratulations on the birth of Atlas. We have been blessed with our 2nd Great-Grandson last Friday, 2/28/2025. Bentley and mom, our granddaughter, are healthy and doing great. I enjoyed your past episodes with Chuck, Andy, and looking forward to Gina. I have been a fan since your 3rd week at KLOS, followed you to Mark In The Morning and all your podcasts. Loved your book. I have both the hard cover and the audible, so I can hear your “”Radio God” voice whenever I choose. Welcome back to California. Yes, I know it’s part-time. Love the Thompson Family.
In the “mark this under big brother is listening”, I listened to “Guess What The Kid Ate” this morning and less than three hours later I get an e-mail for “Battle of the Bands” Gino Vannelli at the Saban Theater. I hope you get your plumbing issue fixed without breaking the bank, and I have to admit I thought for sure you were going to say the color of the water was brown not red. Hope to hear this during the Letters segment along with a big Fuck You!
Mark have you watched the new documentary Yacht Rock on HBO Max? It is so good you’ll see most of the members of Toto along with many others of the 80s influencers. It was thoroughly enjoyable I think you would love it.

Hi Mark, I recently caught up on the podcast and was interested in your review of the horror movie “Longlegs”. I wanted to be sure you were aware of some fun trivia about the movie. The writer/director of “Longlegs”, Osgood Perkins, is the son of Anthony Perkins, who played Norman Bates in the original “Psycho”. I know you hold that movie in extremely high regard. I have also read some trivia, don’t know whether it’s true, that Osgood Perkins wrote “Longlegs” as a tribute to his own mother. I haven’t been brave enough to watch the movie yet, but Osgood definitely gives off some spooky vibes just like his father did. I’m glad you dug the movie.
Hi Mark,
Your interview with Darren Hayes (EP29) really touched me. My extended, married family has been affected by alcoholism, drugs, depression, and various types of abuse. A family member told me when you’re really depressed and having suicidal thoughts, it’s like being underwater, looking up at surface, and deciding whether to swim up and sink down. Cannot emphasize enough how important it is for people to reach out and get help. All the best to the RG and his family of listeners!
Gino Vanelli and Rex Smith is musical theater. Not crazy about broadway tunes and it immediately wanted me to fast forward. The Mafia version of “I Think I Love You” was okay. Tolerable. Better than your buddy Gino’s version.
The past shows you have on the website are the shows you did before you started working for the Sound. Could you please, with your high resolution archives, post all of them. They are not available in the internet archive where the first 2-plus years are. Thanks for all your efforts.
Gino V version is 1000% better than Ricki’s Mafia…. I love this new segment. Perhaps in the future, you can compare Judas Priest with Pat Boone, who made an entire album of Judas’ covers – all entertaining! I also liked the short version of “Cool Stories in Music”…. how impressive Earle Hagen’s career was over the many years! Thank you for sharing.
Hey it’s Fuckin’ Craig! Gino and Rex for the win! The other one isn’t bad it just doesn’t have the emotional impact of Gino’s arrangement. I so wish you had been able to record the duet with Dana. I am really looking forward to your interview with Gina. I haven’t heard her voice since she left ACS. Other than her instagram posts. I met her once a few years ago when the show was in town. Can’t wait! Thank You!
Have you seen the documentary “Reinventing Elvis: The ’68 Comeback” I just watched it….it’s a good one! A lot of insights of what it took to make that special happen.
“Ate Grandpa “, wow you are a sick fuck, lol. David Cassidy and The Partridge Family did “I Think I Love You “ the best. Old school is usually the best, unless you are talking about “The Sound of Silence “ then you can’t beat Disturbed. Yeah, I didn’t mention the two you played but I’m old, not decrepit like you, just old.
Hey Mark!
Right now I’m enjoying a delicious Cachete Taco!
..and I think of you every time I do!!!
Because Cachete is Beef Cheek! 😁😁😁
I remember you telling the story on Daddy Vs. Daughters!
Makes me laugh everytime I think of it!
I want to alleviate your anxiety about it and let you know, you didn’t eat the inside of a cow’s mouth…
Cheek Meat is nothing more than the jaw muscle.
There’s no mucus membrane in it.
It’s super tender and flavorful.
Lovin’ you Buddy!
After 56 years of living my whole life in Southern California.. I just moved to North Carolina…
I really like it here. 👍🏻
